About the Role
Our client is looking for a proactive and business-minded Sports Centre Manager to take charge of their modern leisure facility in Birmingham . You will be responsible for the overall operational efficiency, financial performance, and strategic development of the centre, ensuring a safe, high-quality, and engaging experience for all users. This role requires strong leadership, excellent stakeholder management, and a passion for promoting health and fitness within the local community. The successful candidate will drive membership growth, optimize facility utilization, and maintain exceptional standards across all departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the sports centre, including staffing, scheduling, and facility maintenance.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase membership sales and retention rates.
- Manage the centre's budget, financial reporting, and cost control measures effectively.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team of fitness instructors, receptionists, and support staff.
- Plan and execute marketing campaigns and community outreach initiatives to enhance the centre's profile.
Requirements
- Previous experience (3+ years) in a management role within the leisure or sports industry.
- Strong understanding of sports facility operations, programming, and membership management.
- Proven track record in financial management and achieving business objectives.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Relevant qualifications in Sports Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- First Aid certification and knowledge of health and safety best practices.
