About the Role

Our client is looking for a passionate and community-focused Sports Development Officer to join their team in Bradford . This role is dedicated to increasing participation in sports and physical activities across the local community, particularly among underserved groups. You will play a key role in planning, organizing, and delivering engaging sports programs, workshops, and events. This hybrid position allows for a blend of community-based work and office-based planning, contributing significantly to the health and well-being of residents through accessible sports initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and deliver a diverse range of community sports programmes and events.
• Engage with local schools, community groups, and sports clubs to promote participation.
• Identify opportunities to develop new sports initiatives and partnerships to reach wider audiences.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of sports development programmes, collecting data and reporting on outcomes.
• Manage budgets allocated for specific projects and initiatives.
• Promote inclusivity and accessibility in all sports development activities.

Requirements

• Experience in sports development , community outreach, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of participation barriers and strategies to overcome them in a diverse community.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with people from various backgrounds.
• A passion for sports and promoting active lifestyles.
• Relevant qualifications in sports science, sports management, or a related discipline are preferred.
