Sports Development Officer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a passionate and driven Sports Development Officer to champion the growth and accessibility of sports across the region from a remote setting. This role involves creating and implementing strategies to increase sports participation, particularly among underserved groups, and fostering partnerships with local schools, clubs, and community organizations. You will play a key role in promoting healthy lifestyles and developing sustainable sports initiatives that benefit the community in and around Bradford .

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic plans for sports development initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to increase participation in sports and physical activity across diverse demographics.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including sports clubs, schools, and local authorities.
• Organize and manage sports events, coaching programs, and festivals.
• Seek and secure funding through grant applications and sponsorship opportunities.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of sports programs and report on progress.

Requirements

• Experience in sports development, project management, or community engagement.
• Strong understanding of the sports landscape and participation barriers.
• Excellent networking, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage projects remotely and effectively.
• A degree in Sports Science, Leisure Management, or a related field is preferred.
