About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly organised and energetic Sports Event Coordinator to manage and deliver a variety of sporting events in and around Oxford . This hybrid role requires a blend of on-site event management and remote planning and coordination. You will be responsible for all aspects of event execution, from initial planning and logistics to on-the-day coordination and post-event analysis. The successful candidate will have a proven ability to manage complex projects, a meticulous attention to detail, and a passion for creating memorable and successful sporting experiences for participants and spectators in the Oxford area.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organise, and execute a diverse range of sports events, ensuring all logistical requirements are met.
- Source and manage suppliers, venues, and contractors for events, negotiating contracts and overseeing delivery.
- Develop event schedules, participant registration systems, and on-site operational plans.
- Coordinate event staff and volunteers, providing clear direction and support.
- Manage event budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring financial targets are met.
- Conduct post-event evaluations, gathering feedback and producing comprehensive reports for future improvements.
Requirements
- Proven experience in event management, with a specific focus on sports events.
- Strong understanding of event planning, logistics, and risk management.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules.
