About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly organized and creative Sports Event Planner to orchestrate a variety of sporting events and experiences from conception to completion. You will be responsible for everything from venue selection and vendor management to budget oversight and on-site execution, ensuring that each event is a resounding success, captivating audiences and participants alike. Key Responsibilities

• Plan, budget, and manage all logistical aspects of sporting events, including venue sourcing, permits, and insurance.
• Coordinate with stakeholders, including athletes, governing bodies, sponsors, and media, to ensure seamless event execution.
• Develop comprehensive event timelines and project plans, tracking progress and managing risks effectively.
• Oversee vendor selection and contract negotiation for catering, AV, security, and other event services.
• Develop and implement marketing and communication strategies to promote events and drive attendance.
• Manage event staffing and volunteer coordination to ensure smooth operations on the day.

Requirements

• Proven experience (5+ years) in planning and managing sports events, preferably in a remote or distributed team setting.
• Strong understanding of event planning software and project management methodologies.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex budgets and deliver events within financial constraints.
• Experience in crisis management and problem-solving in fast-paced environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Sports Management, Business, or a related field.
