About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Sports Facilities Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day management of their sports grounds and facilities in Wolverhampton . You will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of maintenance, safety, and usability of all sports areas, including pitches, courts, and training grounds. This role requires a hands-on individual with a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage a small team of groundskeepers and maintenance staff, ensuring a premier environment for athletes and sports enthusiasts alike, and contributing significantly to the reputation of the facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the maintenance, upkeep, and presentation of all sports pitches, courts, and associated facilities.
- Ensure all sports areas comply with safety regulations and industry best practices, conducting regular inspections.
- Manage and lead a team of groundskeepers and maintenance personnel, providing training and performance feedback.
- Oversee the scheduling of facility usage to maximise availability and minimise disruption.
- Manage inventory of equipment and supplies, and coordinate repairs and replacements as needed.
- Liaise with sports clubs, internal departments, and external contractors regarding facility requirements and bookings.
Requirements
- Proven experience in sports facility management or groundskeeping, with supervisory experience highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of sports turf management, pitch maintenance, and relevant equipment.
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage a team effectively.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations pertaining to sports facilities.
- Ability to plan and manage budgets for maintenance and equipment.
- A practical, hands-on approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
