About the Role

Our client is seeking an organized and enthusiastic Sports Programme Coordinator to manage and develop a diverse range of sports and physical activity programmes within Derby . This role involves planning, promoting, and delivering high-quality activities for various age groups and abilities, fostering community engagement and encouraging active lifestyles. You will work closely with local partners, schools, and sports clubs to ensure programmes are accessible, engaging, and meet community needs, contributing to the health and well-being of the Derbyshire population. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sport and excellent project management skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and deliver a schedule of sports programmes and events across various venues.
• Promote programmes effectively to target audiences through digital and traditional marketing channels.
• Manage participant registration, feedback collection, and programme evaluation processes.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with community groups, schools, and sports governing bodies.
• Source and manage resources, including equipment, venues, and external coaches or instructors.
• Ensure all programmes are delivered safely, adhering to relevant policies and procedures, and risk assessments are conducted.

Requirements

• Experience in programme coordination, event management, or sports development.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
• Proficiency in using marketing and communication tools to promote programmes.
• Knowledge of safeguarding policies and health & safety procedures in a sports context.
• A relevant qualification in sports development, leisure management, or a related field is advantageous for this role in Derby .
