About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Strategic Sourcing Specialist to join their procurement department in Oxford . This hybrid role focuses on identifying, evaluating, and engaging with suppliers to secure the best possible terms for goods and services critical to the company's operations. You will be instrumental in developing long-term supplier relationships and implementing cost-saving initiatives. This position offers a balanced approach, allowing for both focused independent work remotely and collaborative sessions in the office, fostering innovation and efficiency within the purchasing function.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough market analysis to identify potential new suppliers and assess market dynamics.
- Lead the sourcing process for key categories, including RFQ/RFP development, supplier selection, and negotiation.
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans to achieve cost savings and mitigate supply chain risks.
- Manage and foster strong relationships with strategic suppliers, ensuring performance and compliance.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and align sourcing strategies with business objectives.
- Monitor supplier performance and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Proven experience in strategic sourcing , procurement, or category management.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent understanding of supply chain principles and best practices.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
- Proficiency in sourcing software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
