About the Role
Our client is seeking a proficient Structural Design Engineer to join their expanding, fully remote team. This role focuses on the structural design of commercial buildings, ensuring safety, integrity, and optimal performance through innovative engineering solutions. You will work collaboratively with architects and project managers across the UK, contributing to a diverse range of commercial development projects. The position is ideal for an engineer who thrives in a flexible, digitally connected workplace and is committed to delivering high-quality structural designs remotely.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design for commercial building projects, including steel, concrete, and timber structures.
- Produce detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications using industry-standard software.
- Collaborate closely with architects, contractors, and other consultants in a virtual environment.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant British Standards , Eurocodes, and building regulations.
- Review contractor proposals and respond to technical queries during the construction phase.
- Contribute to the development of efficient and cost-effective structural solutions.
Requirements
- BEng/MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in structural design for commercial buildings.
- Proficiency with structural analysis and design software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, Tekla).
- Strong knowledge of Eurocodes and UK Building Regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for remote work.
