Structural Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a talented Structural Design Engineer to become a key member of their engineering team in Derby, Derbyshire . This role focuses on the conceptualization, analysis, and detailed design of structural elements for a diverse range of building projects, from commercial and industrial to residential. You will collaborate closely with architects and other consultants to deliver safe, efficient, and innovative structural solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Undertake structural analysis and design for steel, concrete, masonry, and timber structures.
• Prepare detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications using industry-standard software.
• Ensure all designs meet the requirements of relevant British Standards, Eurocodes, and building regulations.
• Liaise with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
• Conduct site inspections and provide technical support during the construction phase.
• Assist in the preparation of technical proposals and fee bids.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural design.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., Tekla Structural Designer, Robot Structural Analysis) and CAD.
• Good understanding of building materials and construction techniques.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
