About the Role

Our client requires a highly skilled and innovative Structural Engineer to join their prestigious consultancy in Manchester . You will be responsible for the structural design and integrity of a wide range of construction projects, ensuring safety, stability, and compliance with all relevant standards. This role involves close collaboration with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to deliver cutting-edge structural solutions. The successful candidate will possess a strong technical aptitude and a commitment to excellence in engineering design.

Key Responsibilities

Design and analyse structural elements for buildings and infrastructure projects using industry-standard software.
Prepare detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications for construction.
Collaborate with design teams to ensure the structural integrity of projects aligns with architectural vision.
Undertake site visits to monitor construction progress and ensure designs are implemented correctly.
Provide technical advice and solutions to construction teams and clients regarding structural issues.
Stay abreast of the latest advancements in structural engineering and building codes.

Requirements

Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, with professional qualification (e.g., IStructE, ICE) desirable.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in structural engineering design, preferably within a consultancy environment.
Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, Robot Structural Analysis) and CAD software.
Strong understanding of building codes, standards, and best practices relevant to UK construction .
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience with various construction materials such as steel, concrete, and timber.
