About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Structural Engineer to join their established team in Belfast . In this vital role, you will be responsible for the structural design and analysis of a diverse range of building projects, ensuring safety, stability, and compliance with all relevant codes and standards. You will work closely with architects, contractors, and other consultants to bring complex structures to life, contributing to the vibrant built environment of Northern Ireland . Key Responsibilities
- Design and analyze structural systems for new builds, refurbishments, and extensions across various sectors (commercial, residential, industrial).
- Prepare detailed structural calculations, drawings, and specifications using industry-standard software.
- Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and ensure adherence to design specifications.
- Collaborate effectively with architects, clients, contractors, and other engineering disciplines.
- Undertake structural surveys and assessments of existing buildings, providing reports and recommendations.
- Ensure all structural designs meet current building regulations, British Standards, and health and safety requirements.
Requirements
- Degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a structural specialization.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards professional qualification (e.g., MIStructE, MICE).
- Proven experience in structural design, preferably within a consultancy environment.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, ETABS, Robot Structural Analysis) and AutoCAD.
- Strong knowledge of materials such as steel, concrete, timber, and masonry.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and clear, concise communication skills.
