About the Role
Our client requires a talented Structural Engineer to join their established team in Leeds . You will be responsible for the design and analysis of structural elements for a range of exciting construction projects, from residential developments to commercial buildings. This role involves close collaboration with architects, construction managers, and other engineering disciplines to ensure the integrity, safety, and efficiency of structural designs. The successful candidate will have a passion for innovation and a commitment to delivering robust, cost-effective engineering solutions, contributing to projects that shape the urban landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, analyze, and specify structural systems for new builds and refurbishments.
- Prepare detailed engineering calculations, drawings, and reports using relevant software.
- Collaborate with architects and contractors to integrate structural designs into overall project plans.
- Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and ensure adherence to design specifications.
- Review contractor submissions and respond to structural queries during the construction phase.
- Stay updated on the latest building codes, standards, and engineering best practices.
Requirements
- M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
- Chartered Engineer status (MIStructE or MICE) or working towards it.
- Demonstrable experience in structural design using analysis software (e.g., STAAD.Pro , Tekla ).
- Proficiency in building codes and standards relevant to UK construction.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to technical accuracy.
