About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Structural Mechanical Engineer to join their established engineering department in Manchester . This role is crucial for ensuring the integrity and performance of our client's mechanical structures and systems under various load conditions. You will be responsible for performing in-depth structural analysis, designing robust components, and collaborating with manufacturing teams to guarantee the highest standards of safety and reliability. Key Responsibilities

Conduct detailed finite element analysis (FEA) to assess the structural integrity of mechanical designs under static and dynamic loads.
Design and optimize mechanical components and structures to meet strength, stiffness, and durability requirements.
Develop technical specifications, test plans, and reports for structural components.
Work closely with fabrication and assembly teams to ensure designs are implemented correctly and efficiently.
Investigate structural failures or performance issues and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and safety regulations for structural design.

Requirements

BEng or MEng in Mechanical Engineering with a strong focus on Structural Mechanics.
3-5 years of experience in structural analysis and mechanical design.
Proficiency in FEA software such as ANSYS, Abaqus, or similar.
Solid understanding of material properties, failure theories, and structural dynamics.
Experience with CAD software for design and model creation.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and standards.
