About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Structural Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Norwich . This role focuses on the analysis and design of load-bearing structures and components, ensuring their integrity and safety under various operating conditions. You will utilize advanced simulation tools and your engineering expertise to validate designs and resolve complex structural challenges. Working in a hybrid model, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team on significant engineering projects, contributing to the development of robust and reliable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) on mechanical designs.
• Design and validate load-bearing components and structures for strength, stiffness, and durability.
• Develop detailed engineering drawings and specifications for manufacturing.
• Collaborate with project managers and other engineering disciplines to define structural requirements.
• Investigate and resolve structural failures or performance issues.
• Stay current with advancements in structural analysis techniques and materials science.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Structures or Solid Mechanics.
• 3-5 years of experience in structural engineering analysis and design.
• Proficiency in FEA software (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus) and CAD software.
• Strong understanding of mechanics of materials, solid mechanics, and failure theories.
• Experience with metallic and composite materials.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
