About the Role
Our client is recruiting for a dedicated Substance Misuse Support Worker to join their hybrid team in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, UK . This role is essential in providing support and guidance to individuals struggling with addiction, helping them on their journey to recovery. You will engage with clients through a mix of in-person outreach, one-to-one sessions, and remote check-ins, facilitating access to treatment services and support networks. Key Responsibilities
- Engage with individuals experiencing substance misuse issues, building trust and rapport.
- Conduct assessments to understand clients' needs, risks, and support requirements.
- Develop and implement individualised recovery plans in collaboration with clients.
- Facilitate access to detoxification, rehabilitation services, and harm reduction strategies.
- Provide ongoing emotional support, advice, and practical assistance throughout the recovery process.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records and contribute to team case discussions.
- Liaise with other agencies, including healthcare providers and social services, to ensure coordinated care.
Requirements
- Experience in working with individuals with substance misuse issues or in a related support role.
- Knowledge of addiction, recovery pathways, and harm reduction principles.
- Excellent communication, empathy, and non-judgmental approach.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing caseloads effectively.
- Proficiency with IT systems for case management and communication.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, drug and alcohol counselling) are advantageous.
