Substation Supervisor

Role: Substation Supervisor Location: Lochgilphead, Argyll and Bute, PA31 8LG Rate: £36.00 per hour PAYE Hours: 07:30 - 18:00 (Monday to Friday) Duration: 02/11/2026 - 31/12/2026 (60 Days)

Our client, a leading infrastructure contractor delivering major power and energy projects across the UK, is currently seeking an experienced Substation Supervisor to join a project based in Lochgilphead.

SSE authorisations are not required; however, candidates must have previous HV substation experience and experience supervising teams on power infrastructure projects.

As a Substation Supervisor, your duties will include:

Supervising and coordinating HV substation installation and construction activities Managing site operatives and subcontractors to ensure works are completed safely and efficiently Delivering site briefings and toolbox talks Monitoring site progress and maintaining high standards of workmanship Ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements Liaising with project management, engineers and client representatives Supporting the planning and coordination of daily site activities Ensuring work is delivered in line with project specifications and programme requirements

The successful Substation Supervisor must have:

Previous experience supervising HV substation projects (11kV-400kV)

EUSR Utility SHEA Power Fire Marshal Certificate Strong understanding of health and safety requirements within the power sector
