About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive Supply Chain Industrial Engineer to enhance efficiency within their logistics and distribution network, with opportunities to work remotely and contribute to operations in the Norwich area. This role focuses on analyzing and optimizing supply chain processes, from inventory management to transportation and warehousing. You will leverage engineering principles to identify bottlenecks, reduce lead times, and improve overall cost-effectiveness. By collaborating with logistics partners and internal teams, you will play a crucial part in streamlining operations and ensuring the efficient movement of goods, impacting the company's reach from Norwich and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze current supply chain operations, including warehousing, inventory management, and transportation, to identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement process enhancements to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and minimize lead times across the supply chain.
- Utilize data analysis and modeling techniques to forecast demand, optimize inventory levels, and improve logistics network design.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external logistics providers to ensure seamless execution of supply chain strategies.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for supply chain operations, reporting on performance and identifying trends.
- Implement lean principles and best practices within warehousing and distribution operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in supply chain analysis , industrial engineering , or logistics operations.
- Strong understanding of supply chain principles, logistics, and inventory management techniques.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL) and supply chain modeling software.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience working with WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) and TMS (Transportation Management Systems) is a plus.
