Sustainability Architect

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated Sustainability Architect to join their forward-thinking, remote-first team. This role is pivotal in integrating sustainable design principles and technologies into all aspects of architectural projects. You will champion environmentally conscious design, aiming to reduce the ecological footprint of buildings and enhance their performance and occupant well-being. This position requires a proactive individual with a passion for environmental design and a deep understanding of sustainable building practices, materials, and certifications, working collaboratively from anywhere in the UK.

Key Responsibilities

• Integrate sustainable design strategies into architectural projects from the conceptual stage.
• Advise on and implement environmentally friendly materials, energy-efficient systems, and water conservation measures.
• Conduct sustainability assessments and certifications (e.g., BREEAM, LEED).
• Collaborate with project teams, consultants, and clients to achieve sustainability goals.
• Research and stay abreast of emerging sustainable technologies and best practices in architecture.
• Prepare reports and presentations on sustainability performance and impact.

Requirements

• Degree in Architecture or a related field with a specialization in sustainable design.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in sustainable architecture or green building consulting.
• Knowledge of sustainability assessment tools and frameworks (BREEAM, LEED, Passivhaus).
• Proficiency in relevant design software and energy modelling tools.
• Strong understanding of building physics, low-carbon technologies, and material science.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, adapted for remote teamwork.
