Sustainable Agriculture Consultant

About the Role

Our client is looking for a knowledgeable and forward-thinking Sustainable Agriculture Consultant to advise on environmentally sound farming practices in and around Glasgow . This hybrid role involves collaborating with farmers and agricultural businesses to implement strategies that enhance ecological balance, improve soil health, and reduce environmental impact, while ensuring economic viability. You will be at the forefront of promoting regenerative agriculture, conservation efforts, and climate-resilient farming systems. Key Responsibilities

• Assess current farming practices and identify opportunities for improving sustainability and environmental performance.
• Develop bespoke sustainable farming plans , focusing on soil health, water conservation, and biodiversity.
• Advise on the implementation of organic farming methods, cover cropping, and reduced tillage systems.
• Conduct workshops and training sessions for farmers and agricultural stakeholders on sustainable techniques.
• Research and report on the latest innovations and policies related to sustainable agriculture.
• Assist clients in obtaining certifications for sustainable and organic produce.

Requirements

• Degree in Sustainable Agriculture, Environmental Science, Agronomy, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in agricultural sustainability or environmental consulting.
• In-depth knowledge of organic farming principles , regenerative agriculture, and ecological land management.
• Strong understanding of soil science, crop rotation, and integrated pest management.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and report-writing skills, comfortable presenting complex information.
