About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Sustainable Design Architect to join their team in Oxford . This role is focused on integrating environmentally responsible design principles and practices into all aspects of architectural projects. You will be instrumental in developing strategies to minimise environmental impact, enhance building performance, and promote resource efficiency. Working closely with project teams, you will guide the design process towards achieving high levels of sustainability and occupant well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sustainable design strategies for architectural projects, aiming for certifications like BREEAM or LEED.
- Conduct energy modelling and performance analysis to optimise building efficiency.
- Research and specify sustainable materials, technologies, and construction methods.
- Advise project teams on environmental regulations and best practices for sustainable design.
- Collaborate with consultants to integrate renewable energy systems and water management solutions.
- Prepare reports and documentation to support sustainability goals and certifications.
Requirements
- Qualified Architect with a demonstrable focus on sustainable design.
- Knowledge of sustainable building rating systems (e.g., BREEAM, LEED, Passivhaus).
- Proficiency in energy modelling software and environmental analysis tools.
- Understanding of building physics, low-carbon technologies, and lifecycle assessment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills to advocate for sustainable design principles.
