About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Tax Accountant to join their dynamic team in Reading . This hybrid role offers a fantastic opportunity to manage the company's tax affairs, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation while also contributing to tax planning strategies. You will work closely with internal teams and external advisors to navigate complex tax environments. The role requires a proactive individual with a strong understanding of UK tax law, who can effectively balance office-based collaboration with the flexibility of remote work.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit all statutory tax returns, including Corporation Tax, VAT, and PAYE, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
- Provide advice and support on tax implications of business decisions, transactions, and contracts.
- Conduct tax research and analysis to identify potential tax savings opportunities and mitigate tax risks.
- Manage relationships with HMRC and external tax advisors, responding to inquiries and managing audits.
- Assist in the development and implementation of tax planning strategies to optimize the company's tax position.
- Stay abreast of changes in tax legislation and advise the business accordingly.
Requirements
- Qualified tax professional (e.g., ATT, CTA) or a qualified accountant with a strong specialization in tax.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in corporate tax, covering direct and indirect taxes.
- In-depth knowledge of UK tax legislation and accounting standards.
- Proficiency in tax preparation software and strong Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, managing tasks both in the office and remotely.
