Full-Time | Permanent | MPR/UPR
Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a successful secondary school in Basingstoke to recruit an inspirational and committed Teacher of English.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a thriving, well-resourced and highly regarded English department. The successful candidate will teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging lessons that inspire students to develop a lasting appreciation of language, literature, reading and communication.

The Role
As a Teacher of English, you will:
Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4 Teach English Language and English Literature Create a calm, inclusive and purposeful classroom environment Develop students’ reading, writing, speaking and analytical skills Use assessment effectively to monitor progress and address gaps in knowledge Prepare students for GCSE examinations Adapt teaching to support different abilities and additional learning needs Maintain high expectations for behaviour, effort and achievement Work collaboratively with departmental and pastoral colleagues Contribute to curriculum planning and resource development Support enrichment opportunities beyond the classroom The school is looking for a teacher who can deliver high-quality lessons, secure positive outcomes and create wider opportunities that enrich students’ educational experiences and personal development.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification Have strong knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 English curriculum Be passionate about language, literature and literacy Demonstrate effective classroom and behaviour management Set high expectations for student progress and achievement Use assessment and feedback to improve learning Inspire students of different abilities and starting points Contribute positively to a collaborative department Be committed to professional development Promote the welfare and safeguarding of young people What the School Offers

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
