Technical Support Engineer - Installation & Maintenance

About the Role

Our client is seeking an adaptable and technically adept Technical Support Engineer to bolster their installation and maintenance division. This hybrid role will involve both on-site interventions in Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear , and remote support to ensure client equipment operates at peak performance. You will play a key role in troubleshooting complex technical issues, performing critical maintenance, and providing first-class support to a varied clientele. This position offers a dynamic blend of field and office-based work, perfect for a proactive individual who excels in problem-solving and client interaction, contributing to the reliable functioning of essential systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues on client-site equipment, providing timely and effective solutions.
• Conduct scheduled maintenance and system checks to prevent potential failures and ensure longevity of equipment.
• Offer remote technical assistance to customers, guiding them through troubleshooting steps and resolutions.
• Document all service calls, maintenance activities, and repairs accurately in the company's CRM system.
• Collaborate with the engineering team on product improvements based on field feedback and recurring issues.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and operational standards during all on-site visits and remote support sessions.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a technical support or engineering role, with a focus on installation and maintenance.
• Strong technical aptitude across a range of hardware and software platforms.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with clients of varying technical backgrounds.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively for both on-site and remote tasks.
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools and remote access software.
• Must possess a valid driver's license for occasional site visits within the Newcastle area.
