About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Telecommunications Field Engineer to join their team based in Manchester . You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications infrastructure, including fiber optics, networking equipment, and wireless systems. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, hands-on field work, and excellent customer interaction skills, serving clients across the Greater Manchester region. Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and test telecommunications hardware, including routers, switches, and base stations.
• Diagnose and resolve network connectivity and equipment issues for business and residential clients.
• Perform regular maintenance and upgrades on existing telecommunications infrastructure.
• Conduct site surveys to determine optimal placement for new equipment.
• Manage and maintain accurate documentation of network configurations and service records.
• Respond to emergency call-outs to resolve critical network failures.

Requirements

• Experience in telecommunications installation and maintenance, with a focus on networking or fiber optics.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols, and wireless technologies.
• Ability to interpret technical diagrams and schematics.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• A valid driver's license and the flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends are required.
