About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Telecommunications Field Technician to join their expanding team in Newcastle upon Tyne . This hybrid role involves a blend of on-site client visits and remote support activities. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment and infrastructure for a diverse range of clients. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to apply your technical skills in a customer-facing capacity while also contributing to the broader network operations of the company. You will be a key point of contact for clients, ensuring their telecommunications systems operate smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain telecommunications equipment, including fibre optics, copper cabling, and associated hardware.
• Perform routine diagnostic tests and troubleshoot issues with client communication systems.
• Respond to service calls and customer requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Collaborate with the central support team to resolve complex technical problems.
• Ensure all installations and repairs adhere to industry standards and safety regulations.
• Provide basic training and support to clients on the use of their telecommunications equipment.

Requirements

• Experience in a similar Field Technician or installation role within the telecoms industry.
• Proficiency in handling and terminating various types of communication cables (e.g., fibre, CAT5e/6).
• Knowledge of basic networking concepts and telecommunications protocols.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• A valid UK driving license is essential for site visits.
