About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated Telecommunications Field Technician to join their operational team based in Birmingham . This hands-on role is crucial for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment and infrastructure for our diverse client base across the region. You will be the frontline representative, ensuring reliable service delivery and customer satisfaction through expert technical support and efficient problem-solving. Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and test telecommunications equipment, including fibre optic cables, routers, switches, and associated hardware.
• Perform scheduled maintenance and diagnostic checks on network infrastructure to prevent potential issues.
• Troubleshoot and repair faults in telecommunications systems, responding to service disruptions promptly.
• Ensure all work is completed safely, adhering to company policies and industry regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance activities, and repairs using company systems.
• Provide excellent customer service and technical support to clients on-site.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Field Technician or in a similar technical role within the telecoms sector.
• Strong understanding of telecommunications principles, including fibre optics, copper cabling, and network protocols.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and testing equipment relevant to telecommunications.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and installation manuals.
• Valid UK driving license and a willingness to travel extensively within the Birmingham area and surrounding regions.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
