Telecommunications Field Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and skilled Telecommunications Field Technician to join their operational team in Liverpool . In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment and infrastructure at customer sites and within network facilities. You will be the frontline representative of our client, ensuring high-quality service delivery and customer satisfaction. This position requires excellent technical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in diverse environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and test telecommunications equipment, including routers, switches, modems, and customer premise equipment (CPE).
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on network infrastructure, identifying and rectifying potential issues before they impact service.
• Troubleshoot and repair faults in copper, fiber optic, and wireless networks, ensuring rapid restoration of services.
• Respond to service calls and customer requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Adhere to safety protocols and company procedures while working on-site.
• Maintain accurate records of service activities, equipment status, and inventory using company systems.

Requirements

• Previous experience (2+ years) as a Field Technician or in a similar technical role within the telecoms sector .
• Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving common telecommunications issues, including signal loss, connectivity problems, and equipment malfunctions.
• Familiarity with various types of telecommunications cabling (e.g., Ethernet, coaxial, fiber optic).
• Basic understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
• Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
• Valid UK driving license and a willingness to travel extensively within the Liverpool region.
