Telecommunications Field Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Telecommunications Field Technician to join their operational team based in Coventry, West Midlands . You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment and infrastructure at customer sites and various company locations. This role requires a hands-on approach, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while adhering to strict safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and test telecommunications hardware, including routers, switches, fibre optics, and mobile network equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance and diagnostic tests on network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot and repair faults and network issues reported by customers or internal monitoring systems.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies during site visits.
• Provide first-line support and escalate complex issues to higher technical teams when necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, equipment used, and site conditions.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a field service or telecommunications installation role.
• Solid understanding of telecommunications technologies, including copper and fibre optic cabling, DSL, and cellular networks.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
• Strong practical skills in electrical and mechanical installations.
• A valid UK driving licence is essential for site visits.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
