Telecommunications Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a competent Telecommunications Technician to join their network infrastructure team serving Norwich and the surrounding Norfolk area. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment, including broadband, telephony, and data network systems. You will be responsible for ensuring reliable connectivity for residential and business customers. Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and test telecommunications equipment such as routers, modems, and switchboards.
• Diagnose and resolve faults in broadband, telephone, and data network services.
• Perform routine maintenance checks on telecommunications infrastructure to ensure optimal performance.
• Manage customer service requests, providing technical support and resolving issues efficiently.
• Adhere to safety procedures and industry best practices during all installations and repairs.
• Document all service calls, including equipment installed, faults found, and resolutions provided.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Telecommunications Technician or in a similar role (e.g., IT Support, Network Installation).
• Proficiency with telecommunications hardware and software.
• Understanding of network protocols, IP addressing, and data transmission.
• Good diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for connectivity issues.
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
• A valid UK driving licence is required for travel to customer premises throughout Norfolk .
