About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Telecommunications Technician to support their network infrastructure in and around Plymouth, Devon . This role involves the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of telecommunications equipment, ensuring reliable connectivity for their clients. As part of a hybrid role, you will spend time on-site performing installations and repairs, with opportunities for remote diagnostics and support from a local hub. You will play a key role in maintaining robust communication networks critical to business operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and test telecommunications equipment, including routers, switches, and cabling.
• Diagnose and resolve network connectivity and performance issues.
• Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on telecommunication systems.
• Provide technical support to clients, both on-site and remotely.
• Document network configurations, troubleshooting steps, and service records accurately.
• Adhere to safety procedures and industry best practices during all installations and repairs.

Requirements

• Experience in telecommunications installation, maintenance, or network support.
• Familiarity with various types of communication hardware and protocols.
• Strong understanding of network principles and troubleshooting methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Good communication and customer service abilities.
• Must hold a valid driving license and be able to travel within the Plymouth area.
