About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Telecoms Engineer specializing in Fibre Optic Networks to join their expanding team in Southampton . This critical role involves the design, deployment, and optimisation of high-speed fibre optic infrastructure that forms the backbone of modern communication networks. You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and performance of these networks, addressing technical challenges, and contributing to the strategic development of our client's fibre capabilities. Key Responsibilities

• Design and plan new fibre optic network routes and deployments.
• Install, splice, and test fibre optic cables and equipment according to industry standards.
• Conduct site surveys and assess existing infrastructure for upgrades or new installations.
• Troubleshoot and repair faults in fibre optic networks, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Manage project timelines and resources for fibre optic network rollouts.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Telecoms Engineer with a focus on fibre optics.
• Proficiency in fibre optic splicing, testing (OTDR, OLTS), and termination techniques.
• Understanding of optical network design principles and standards.
• Ability to read and interpret network diagrams and technical specifications.
• Experience with relevant equipment and software used in fibre optic deployment.
