About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Telecoms Engineer to join their critical infrastructure team based in Cardiff . This role is focused on the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of telecommunications networks and equipment. You will play a vital part in ensuring the reliable operation of communication systems for a diverse range of clients. This is a hands-on position requiring significant on-site presence to deliver exceptional service and technical solutions. The successful candidate will be part of a dedicated team committed to providing robust and efficient telecommunications services, contributing to the connectivity and operational success of our clients across Wales and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain telecommunications hardware, including switches, routers, and fibre optic equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance and system checks to ensure network integrity and performance.
- Diagnose and resolve network issues, faults, and connectivity problems efficiently.
- Respond to emergency call-outs to address critical system failures and restore service promptly.
- Document network configurations, troubleshooting steps, and maintenance activities accurately.
- Collaborate with project managers and clients to plan and execute network upgrades and installations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Telecoms Engineer or in a related networking role.
- Strong knowledge of telecommunications principles, network protocols, and hardware.
- Experience with fibre optic splicing, testing, and installation is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in challenging field environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Full UK driving license and willingness to travel for on-site assignments.
