About the Role
Our client is looking for a dedicated and skilled Telecoms Field Service Engineer to join their operations team serving the Cardiff area and surrounding regions. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment at customer sites and network infrastructure locations. You will act as the primary technical point of contact, ensuring that our client's services are delivered reliably and efficiently to their customers. This position requires a practical approach, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and commission telecommunications equipment, including broadband, fibre optic, and mobile network components.
- Perform routine maintenance, diagnostic testing, and preventative repairs on network infrastructure and customer premises equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption to service delivery.
- Respond to service calls and customer requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain accurate records of service activities, equipment inventory, and customer interactions using company systems.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies while working on-site.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer or similar technical role within the telecoms industry .
- Solid understanding of telecommunications technologies, including copper, fibre, and wireless communication systems.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and test equipment for network troubleshooting.
- Excellent practical skills in wiring, cabling, and equipment installation.
- Strong customer service orientation and effective communication skills.
- Valid UK driving license is essential for travel within the Cardiff operational area.
