About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and dependable Telecoms Field Service Technician to join their team in Glasgow . This role involves hands-on installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment and infrastructure at customer sites and company facilities. You will be the frontline representative of our client's commitment to service excellence, ensuring the reliable operation of vital communication systems. Key Responsibilities
- Install, test, and commission telecommunications hardware, including routers, switches, and customer premise equipment (CPE).
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and inspections on network infrastructure.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to voice, data, and video services.
- Respond promptly to service calls and emergency repairs, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Complete service reports, track inventory, and manage work orders effectively.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations while performing duties in the field.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Field Service Technician or in a similar technical support role.
- Solid understanding of telecom network fundamentals, including copper and fiber cabling.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting common networking issues and using diagnostic tools.
- Experience with installation and configuration of customer premises equipment.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to work effectively with clients.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the designated service area, as required for the hybrid nature of the role.
