Telecoms Field Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Telecoms Field Technician to join their operations based in Coventry . In this essential role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment and infrastructure at customer sites. You will be the face of the company, providing excellent service and technical expertise directly to clients. This position requires a hands-on approach, a strong understanding of cabling, network hardware, and diagnostic tools. You will work independently and as part of a team to ensure high standards of service delivery and customer satisfaction across the West Midlands region and beyond, contributing directly to the reliability of our client's network services.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and test telecommunications systems, including routers, switches, and modems.
• Perform routine maintenance and diagnostic checks on network infrastructure and equipment.
• Respond promptly to service calls for troubleshooting and repairing faults in telecom systems.
• Run and terminate network cables, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Provide clear technical guidance and support to customers on-site.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including site reports and inventory.

Requirements

• Experience as a Field Technician in the telecommunications industry.
• Proficiency in installing and troubleshooting various telecom hardware and software.
• Strong understanding of copper and fiber optic cabling standards and practices.
• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and manuals.
• A valid UK driving license and a willingness to travel extensively.
• Good customer service skills and the ability to work effectively without direct supervision.
