Telecoms Field Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and hands-on Telecoms Field Technician to support their operations in and around Birmingham . This role is crucial for ensuring the successful installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment and infrastructure at customer sites. You will be the face of the company, providing exceptional service and technical expertise directly to clients, diagnosing and resolving a wide range of network and connectivity issues. This is a field-based position requiring a proactive approach and a commitment to delivering high-quality on-site support.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot telecommunications equipment, including routers, modems, and fibre optic systems.
• Perform routine maintenance and diagnostic tests on network infrastructure.
• Respond to service calls and resolve technical issues for customers promptly and efficiently.
• Adhere to safety procedures and company policies while on client premises.
• Document all service activities, including work performed and parts used, in the company's CRM system.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Field Technician or in a similar technical support role within the telecoms industry .
• Strong understanding of networking principles, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Valid UK driving license and a willingness to travel extensively within the designated service area.
