Telecoms Infrastructure Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Telecoms Infrastructure Engineer to join their team, working remotely to support their operations across the UK, with a focus on the Liverpool region. This role involves the hands-on management, maintenance, and upgrade of the physical and logical infrastructure that underpins their telecommunications services. You will be crucial in ensuring the stability, performance, and capacity of our network assets, working with a variety of technologies. Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain core telecoms infrastructure components, including servers, storage, and network hardware.
• Manage and monitor network performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks and potential issues.
• Implement upgrades and patches to ensure the security and optimal functioning of infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of the infrastructure environment.
• Participate in capacity planning and forecasting to ensure future service needs are met.
• Respond to infrastructure-related incidents and provide timely resolution.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in telecoms infrastructure management or system administration.
• Strong knowledge of server hardware, operating systems (Linux/Windows Server), and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
• Experience with network hardware, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Familiarity with data centre operations and best practices.
• Proficiency in scripting for automation tasks (e.g., Bash, PowerShell).
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
