About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly competent Telecoms Infrastructure Engineer to bolster their technical team in Stoke-on-Trent . This role is crucial for the design, deployment, and ongoing support of the company's critical telecommunications infrastructure. You will be involved in maintaining and upgrading physical and logical network components, ensuring the highest levels of uptime and performance. This is a hands-on position for an individual who enjoys tackling complex engineering challenges and contributing to the reliable operation of essential communication services within a focused operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, install, and configure core telecom infrastructure components, including transmission, routing, and switching systems.
- Manage and maintain the physical network environment, including data centers and equipment installations.
- Perform diagnostic testing and root cause analysis for network performance issues and failures.
- Implement network upgrades and technology refreshes to improve capacity and efficiency.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation for network infrastructure, configurations, and procedures.
- Collaborate with project teams to integrate new services and technologies into the existing infrastructure.
Requirements
- Solid experience in telecom infrastructure engineering or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of networking principles, protocols, and technologies relevant to fixed and mobile networks.
- Hands-on experience with network hardware configuration and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in network design, capacity planning, and performance optimization.
- Relevant technical certifications (e.g., Cisco, Juniper) are advantageous.
