Telecoms Infrastructure Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a strategic and experienced Telecoms Infrastructure Manager to oversee their telecommunications network and systems in Derby, Derbyshire . This leadership role involves managing a team of engineers and technicians, planning infrastructure upgrades, and ensuring the reliable delivery of all communication services. You will be responsible for the operational excellence and strategic development of the company's telecom assets, working closely with other IT leaders to align technology with business objectives. This is a key position for an individual with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of telecommunications infrastructure management, driving efficiency and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the telecom infrastructure team, providing guidance and performance management.
• Develop and execute the strategy for the telecommunications infrastructure, including capacity planning and technology roadmaps.
• Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of all network and voice systems.
• Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for telecommunications services and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and security best practices.
• Monitor network performance, availability, and resilience, implementing improvements as needed.

Requirements

• Proven experience in managing telecommunications infrastructure and teams.
• Strong understanding of networking principles, including routing, switching, and firewalls.
• Experience with managing PBX systems, VoIP, and unified communications platforms.
• Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to develop and implement long-term infrastructure strategies.
