Telecoms Installation Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and proactive Telecoms Installation Engineer to join their dynamic team, operating primarily on a remote basis with occasional site visits as needed. Based within reach of Reading , you will be responsible for the hands-on installation, commissioning, and testing of telecommunications equipment across various client sites. This role demands a practical, hands-on approach, ensuring that installations are completed to the highest standards of quality and efficiency. You will play a crucial part in deploying and maintaining the infrastructure that powers modern communication networks.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and commission telecommunications hardware, including routers, switches, servers, and radio equipment.
• Perform thorough testing and diagnostics to ensure all installations meet performance specifications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues encountered during the installation process.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and installation manuals.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations on all work sites.
• Provide technical support and handover to client teams upon completion of installations.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Installation Engineer or similar role in the telecoms or IT infrastructure sector.
• Proficiency in installing and configuring various telecommunications equipment and cabling.
• Understanding of networking principles, protocols, and basic IT infrastructure.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to travel to client sites as required.
