Telecoms Installation Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Telecoms Installation Engineer to join their expanding team in Reading . This hands-on role is essential for the physical setup and commissioning of telecommunications equipment at customer sites. You will be responsible for ensuring that all installations are carried out efficiently, safely, and to the highest technical standards, working with a variety of clients across different sectors. The ideal candidate will possess excellent practical skills, a strong understanding of telecommunications hardware, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service on every project.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and configure telecommunications hardware, including routers, switches, servers, and related equipment.
• Perform cable termination, testing, and patching according to industry standards and project specifications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any installation-related issues or faults encountered on-site.
• Ensure all installations are completed in a timely manner, meeting project deadlines and client expectations.
• Maintain a high standard of workmanship and adhere to all health and safety regulations.
• Complete detailed installation reports and documentation for each project.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a telecoms installation or related field service role.
• Proficiency in installing and configuring networking and communication equipment.
• Good understanding of telecoms infrastructure, including fibre optics and copper cabling.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong practical skills and manual dexterity.
• A full UK driving license is required for site visits.
