Telecoms Installation Engineer

About the Role

Our client requires a diligent Telecoms Installation Engineer to join their team serving the Plymouth area. This role is primarily field-based, involving the physical installation and setup of telecommunications equipment at residential and business premises. You will be the face of our client to many customers, ensuring installations are completed to a high standard, on time, and with excellent customer service. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys practical work and contributing directly to service delivery in the community.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and configure telecommunications hardware, including customer premise equipment (CPE), routers, and antennas.
• Run and terminate cables, including fibre optic and copper, to required specifications.
• Test installed systems to ensure optimal performance and connectivity.
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic installation-related issues.
• Maintain accurate records of installations and site conditions.

Requirements

• Experience in telecoms installation or a related trade (e.g., electrician, AV installer).
• Understanding of basic networking principles.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools.
• Strong customer service skills and a professional demeanor.
• Must hold a valid UK driving license and be based near Plymouth .
