About the Role
Our client is seeking a diligent and technically adept Telecoms Installation Engineer for their operations in Stoke-on-Trent . This role focuses on the physical installation and setup of telecommunications equipment, including fibre optic cabling, network hardware, and customer premise equipment (CPE). You will ensure that installations are completed to a high standard, meeting all technical specifications and customer requirements. This hybrid role involves both on-site work and occasional office-based tasks for planning and reporting. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, capable of working efficiently, and committed to delivering quality workmanship that supports reliable network connectivity for our clients' customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and configure various types of telecommunications equipment, including routers, switches, modems, and VoIP phones.
- Lay and terminate fibre optic and copper cabling according to industry standards.
- Test and commission installed equipment to verify functionality and performance.
- Troubleshoot installation-related issues and perform necessary adjustments.
- Document all installation work, including diagrams, test results, and client sign-offs.
- Adhere to company policies, health and safety guidelines, and site-specific procedures.
Requirements
- Experience in installing and terminating telecommunications cabling (copper and fibre).
- Familiarity with networking hardware installation and basic configuration.
- Understanding of telecoms installation best practices and safety protocols.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Good manual dexterity and problem-solving skills.
- A full UK driving license is required for site visits.
