Telecoms Installation Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Telecoms Installation Technician to join their team in Plymouth . This role involves the physical installation and basic configuration of telecommunications equipment at customer premises. You will be responsible for ensuring that services are set up correctly and efficiently, providing a positive experience for new customers. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, be comfortable working with tools and basic hardware, and possess good customer-facing skills. Key Responsibilities

• Install and connect customer premise equipment (CPE), including routers, modems, and set-top boxes.
• Run and terminate internal cabling for broadband and phone services.
• Perform basic testing and activation of services to ensure they are operational.
• Assist senior technicians with more complex installations and configurations.
• Provide clear explanations to customers regarding their new service setup.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure all tools are properly stored.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a similar installation or technical support role is beneficial.
• Familiarity with basic tools and hand tools used in installations.
• Understanding of broadband and telephone network concepts.
• Good physical condition, able to work in various environments and lift moderate equipment.
• Excellent punctuality and reliability.
• A full UK driving license is required to travel to customer sites.
