Telecoms Network Administrator

About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Telecoms Network Administrator to manage and maintain their network infrastructure in Norwich, Norfolk . This role is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, security, and efficiency of the company's telecommunications network. You will perform routine maintenance, monitor network performance, and implement configurations to support business operations. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical skills in network administration, a commitment to maintaining high availability, and a desire to contribute to a stable and robust telecoms environment .

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and servers.
• Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access to network resources.
• Implement and maintain network security policies and procedures to protect against threats.
• Perform regular backups and ensure disaster recovery capabilities are in place.
• Respond to network alerts and incidents, troubleshooting and resolving issues promptly.
• Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Network Administrator or in a similar role within the telecoms industry .
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network protocols.
• Experience with network monitoring tools and security best practices.
• Familiarity with both wired and wireless network infrastructure .
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or equivalent are a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail in Norfolk .
