Telecoms Network Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated Telecoms Network Engineer to join their established team in Reading . Key Responsibilities

• Configure, install, and maintain network hardware and software, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Monitor network performance and traffic, identifying and resolving issues promptly.
• Implement network upgrades and changes according to best practices and project plans.
• Provide technical support for network-related incidents and service requests.
• Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
• Collaborate with other IT and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of network services.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of experience in a telecoms network environment.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (e.g., OSPF), and switching technologies.
• Experience with network monitoring tools and diagnostic utilities.
• Familiarity with network security concepts and best practices.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
