About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic Telecoms Network Engineer to join their expanding team based in Leicester . This role is pivotal in maintaining and enhancing the critical network infrastructure that underpins their telecommunications services. You will be instrumental in ensuring the stability, performance, and security of our client's network, contributing directly to the reliable delivery of services to a diverse customer base. Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls, ensuring optimal performance.
• Monitor network traffic and performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks and potential issues proactively.
• Perform regular system maintenance, upgrades, and patching to ensure network security and reliability.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures.
• Respond to network outages and incidents, providing timely and effective resolution to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with other technical teams to integrate new services and technologies into the existing network architecture.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Network Engineer or in a similar network operations role.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and other routing and switching protocols.
• Hands-on experience with network monitoring tools and diagnostic techniques.
• Familiarity with telecommunications technologies and standards.
• Relevant networking certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) are advantageous.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
