Telecoms Network Operations Centre (NOC) Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a vigilant and technically adept Telecoms Network Operations Centre (NOC) Analyst to join their monitoring hub in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire . In this critical role, you will be responsible for the continuous monitoring of our client's telecommunications network, identifying and responding to performance issues and outages in real-time. Your primary objective will be to ensure the stability, availability, and performance of our vast network infrastructure, supporting thousands of customers. This position demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and a keen eye for detail within the highly dynamic telecoms environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor network performance and availability using state-of-the-art NOC tools.
• Respond to alerts and incidents, performing initial diagnosis and escalating issues as needed.
• Document all network events, actions taken, and resolutions in the incident management system.
• Liaise with field engineers and other technical teams to coordinate fault resolution efforts.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of monitoring processes and tools.
• Assist in the proactive identification of potential network problems before they impact service.

Requirements

• Previous experience working in a Telecoms NOC or similar IT operations environment.
• Understanding of core networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, and routing protocols.
• Familiarity with network monitoring software (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds).
• Ability to work shifts, including nights and weekends, as part of a 24/7 operation.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
