About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Telecoms Network Operations Engineer to join their critical operations team based in Southampton . This role is vital for ensuring the day-to-day performance, reliability, and availability of our client's extensive telecommunications network. Working within a hybrid model, you'll contribute to maintaining robust systems, responding to incidents, and implementing network enhancements. You'll be part of a team dedicated to upholding service levels and driving operational excellence across the network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor network performance, identify anomalies, and proactively resolve issues to maintain service uptime.
• Respond to and manage network incidents, coordinating with relevant teams for timely resolution.
• Perform regular network maintenance and system updates to ensure optimal functionality.
• Implement network configuration changes following established change management procedures.
• Analyze network performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Support the deployment of new network services and equipment, ensuring smooth integration.

Requirements

• Proven experience in network operations or a similar role within the telecommunications sector.
• Strong understanding of IP networking, routing protocols, and network management tools.
• Experience with network monitoring systems (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios) and troubleshooting methodologies.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems and scripting for automation is beneficial.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment , collaborating with remote and on-site colleagues.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure during incident response.
